UCA’s senior center was founded in 2005. Most of its current services are provided by community volunteers due to limited financial resources. Our Senior Center provides a sense of home and belonging for its members who often face cultural isolation and loneliness in a new country. The Senior Center is open five days a week and serves 35 seniors daily with tai chi, hot lunch, crafts, and English and naturalization classes. The Center has over 600 dues-paying members who regularly participate in annual holiday luncheons and celebrations. The Senior Center helps its members apply for social and financial services, health insurance and register to vote. In recreational activities, the center offers Majong, Chess, Canton Folk opera and monthly birthday celebration and social gathering.
