We created our youth education services in response to what immigrant parents saw as gaps in ESL and ELL education that their children faced in area public schools. These services include after-school tutoring, weekend enrichment classes (karate, Chinese, Painting, lion dance, SAT Preparation) and a summer learning institution.
Our educational services focus on developing core skills, especially in reading and writing, where ELL and ESL students typically struggle. We also sponsor a lion dance team and a high school and college internship and volunteer program to provide structured activities for students while their parents are at work. Since started in 2003, our youth programs doubled in size to serve 200 students a year.
