Welcome. We are the United Chinese Association of Brooklyn, commonly known as UCA. UCA is a non-profit organization formed to serve the needs of the Chinese-American population in the Bensonhurst area of Brooklyn, New York City. We aim to build a safe, friendly, and nurturing neighborhood for our children, adults, and seniors. We offer a variety of educational programs and social activities, and we bring our residents together to protect our neighborhood and defend our rights. July 30,2009 Since our last update in April 2, 2006 we, UCA has went through many changes and since our last update in 2006, UCA has expanded and grew. Inaddition found further ways to reach out to our community.We have certainly grew more since 2006 and we hope to continue the same path and further. And in hopes to keep you guys updated in UCA's current events, UCAOB.org will be up and running again despite the years of anbandonment. So we are hoping our website will soon reflect our current progress, change and our impact towards the Bensonhurst area. Lunar New Year is the biggest Chinese holiday and a perfect time
to greet the Chinese community. UCA, State Assemblyman William Colton, Lafayette
High School teachers and students, Ng Wai Hong Lion Dance Team, and the
Civil Service Aide joined together on March 11, 2006 to liven up the Bensonhurst neighborhood
with the traditional Lion Dance Parade...
UCA Formed Lion Dance Team with Lafayette High School Students to Promote Unity, Teamwork, and Community Involvement March 29, 2005
UCA and Lafayette High School students joined together to form a Lion
Dance Team. The ceremony was held at UCA's office on February 2, 2006.
State Assemblyman William Colton performed the tradition of
"lighting up the Lion's eyes" for the team. The Lion Dance Team will be a
great medium for the students to learn teamwork and get more involved in
the community...
